How have I helped you. How did I help you? This is a question I ask myself over and over again, from the very first birth I attended to my most recent. I look for things that I feel I could have done better, and I look for the things I feel like helped during labor and delivery. At about two weeks post partum, I visit my clients and bring them a meal. I take this opportunity to see how everyone is adjusting to life with new baby and check on mom mentally and physically. I ask how they feel about their birth and we discuss their emotional and physical views throughout the experience. This is also often when I ask, how exactly did I help you and what could I have done better? I do this to better understand what I can do as a doula that truly helps my laboring moms, and what I can do to improve in that. There is ALWAYS room to learn and grow and that is SO important in any aspect of life. I challenge each of you to try to grow somewhere in your life you feel you know it all or you couldn’t learn anymore- I have a feeling you’ll be surprised at what all comes from that.
I say all this because I want real, tried and true, testimonials/ feedback from all of my clients I have helped. I don’t want just the good ones that make me look good ( don’t get me wrong who wouldn’t) I want ALL of it. If you have used me as your labor doula before, I ask you to post in the comments your own experience with me, rather it be I needed improvement or I was a joy to work with. This is a blog so the comments cannot be “doctored” before they’re posted, Comments are posted in real time by my real clients. Take that as you will. I hope to hear from each of you soon.🌷
